Project Goals

Maximizing Branding and Optimizing Mobile to Improve Recruitment

In need of a bigger pipeline of prospective students, Del Mar College decided to redesign its website in order to better meet its recruitment goals. In February 2016, the school chose Beacon to manage and complete the project.  

Launched in October of the same year, the redesigned Del Mar College website maximized the school’s branding opportunities and made it easier for mobile users to view and navigate the site's pages.

Beacon's design improved upon the previous iteration of the site, which contained a plethora of information, but not always in the most intuitive locations. The new site allowed for more consistency across pages and helped keep content focused on recruiting new students.

Outcomes Achieved

  • New “wave” design element throughout website represents coastal location and increases use of branding elements on the site.
  • Improved access to frequently asked question with prominent, sticky “Ask The Viking” feature.
  • Testimonial section showcasing success stories of current and former students.
