Project Goals
Striking new design and content improves student engagement and makes website more accessibleLincoln University of Missouri has a proud history as the first Historically Black College or University (HBCU) founded by former slaves, and today provides new students and their families with a welcoming environment and the resources they need to succeed. There was an issue, though. The Lincoln website hadn't been updated in years and didn't reflect all the school had to offer to students.
In order to accurately highlight the academic excellence and the unique sense of community that Lincoln radiates, the school reached out to Beacon for help. The partnership began with a full and detailed strategy phase, as Beacon identified multiple opportunities to modernize the site and make it a more effective marketing tool for reaching prospective students. That was followed by a site redesign and multiple phases of content development and migration into Cascade CMS. Even as the web team at Lincoln changed, Beacon provided a steady hand and detail-oriented project management to keep the redesign on track and deliver a more streamlined site.
The new site offers a significantly improved experience for prospective students and showcases everything Lincoln University has to offer in a powerful and inspiring manner that lives up to the school's history and legacy of excellence.

- Students, parents, alumni, and donors build a much stronger connection with better, more intuitive navigation.
- Prospective students discover and are captivated by bold imagery and original content detailing the benefits of attending Lincoln University.
- Interested students are guided through the site and recruiting process more effectively through strategically placed calls-to-action (CTAs) that promote student engagement.
- Lincoln University is better able to understand, monitor, and support the needs of its students and meet the school's enrollment goals through the implementation of Google Analytics and more accurate visitor activity tracking.
