Managed Digital Marketing for Higher Ed Enrollment.

How do prospective students find your institution?

A well-maintained website only does half the job. It can be fast, accessible, and built around every industry standard in higher education, but prospective students may still never find it if nothing is pointing them there. That’s where LuxEd Grow comes in: our newest addition to the LuxEd Solution, designed as a managed digital marketing program to support higher education enrollment.

A managed website was never the whole answer.

Earlier this year, we made the case for a paradigm shift in how colleges and universities think about their websites: moving away from the one-time redesign project and toward a continuously managed solution. LuxEd Build and LuxEd Support were our answer to that shift, giving institutions a brand-forward website that stays current, secure, and properly maintained under one contract and one partner, instead of aging quietly for years between redesigns.

That solved a real problem. It did not solve the whole problem. For many of the institutions we work with, marketing still looks a lot like the web side did before Managed Website Services (MWS) existed: a paid media agency here, an SEO consultant there, a local listings tool that’s easy to lose track of, and a marketing team left to make sense of disconnected platforms and fragmented data. Meanwhile, higher education marketing is becoming more complex as prospective students change how they discover colleges and universities online. Traditional search engines are no longer the only starting point, with students increasingly turning to AI-native experiences to research programs, compare institutions, and get answers to their questions. Best practices like structured data and question-and-answer content are no longer a nice-to-have for institutions that want to be cited by AI engines, and they work far better when driven by one connected strategy and applied consistently across the website and digital marketing channels.

Introducing LuxEd Grow.

LuxEd Grow applies Beacon’s managed services methodology across five connected capabilities to help colleges and universities capture the attention of students and their families when and where they are actually looking. By uniting each of these areas under one data-driven strategy and a single accountable partnership, insights from each channel inform the others, allowing performance to compound over time. We call this Managed Marketing Services (MMS). What used to require coordination across several different vendors now comes together as one integrated system:

  • Paid Media Management, reaching prospective students at the moments that matter most in their decision, across search, display, and social, with budget concentrated around milestones in the enrollment calendar and application deadlines instead of spread evenly over the year.

  • SEO Management, helping institutions compete for visibility against other schools chasing the same prospective students, with targeted investments sized appropriately for their competitive market and adjusted over time as priorities, goals, and initiatives shift.

  • AI Visibility & Optimization, using generative engine optimization (GEO) and answer engine optimization (AEO) to position colleges and universities to be part of the answer when a prospective student asks ChatGPT, Google’s AI Overview, or Gemini which programs or schools fit them best.

  • Local Listing Management, keeping campus profiles accurate and up to date across Google, Apple, and Bing so prospective students and families can find reliable information through maps, voice assistants, and AI search.

  • Reporting and Attribution, showing which efforts are actually driving inquiries, not just clicks, with attribution that goes as deep into the enrollment funnel as an institution’s data can support.

The framework, complete.

With Grow in place, LuxEd now covers the full higher ed digital ecosystem under a single framework: Build creates the user experience and its content foundation. Support keeps it secure, reliable, and organized. Grow drives traffic and measures visibility for an institution’s most important marketing asset. Beacon delivers this solution through three modules, allowing institutions to invest only in what they need today, with a clear path to add more later without starting over.

Chart sequencing the LuxEd Framework, starting with Build: Website Platform, Strategy, Design & Development. Next, an arrow points right to the next block: Support: Hosting & Maintenance, Managed Website Services. Another arrow points right to the last block, Grow: Marketing Engine, Managed Marketing Services.

One Partner. One Price. One Plan.

It is easy to read “three modules” and assume three separate projects, but in practice they work together to form an institution’s online enrollment funnel. The idea is simple: websites, content, marketing, and the underlying technology must work together. When those responsibilities are divided among separate vendors, it becomes harder to see how the pieces fit together and who is responsible for making sure they do. LuxEd provides an alternative approach via a collaborative partnership built to work alongside an institution’s existing staff, not around them. We handle design, execution, technical implementation, and reporting infrastructure. Our partners keep the institutional knowledge, campus relationships, and strategic calls that only they can make.

Traditional model

  • Long, one-time redesign projects
  • Large upfront investment
  • Multiple vendors and contracts
  • Handoffs between teams, institutional knowledge lost along the way
  • A patchwork of disconnected tools from different vendors
  • Digital marketing starts from scratch after launch

LuxEd model

  • Launch in 8–12 months, with ongoing optimization thereafter
  • Flexible 18–36-month payment terms
  • One partner, one agreement
  • An integrated team carrying institutional knowledge from Build into Grow
  • One managed web and marketing stack
  • Website and campaigns aligned from day one
