Welcome to The Beacon Brief, a quarterly newsletter highlighting news within our industry, our company, and our community. In Q3 of 2023, we celebrated our 25th anniversary, kicked off the tradeshow season, and were delighted by the results of the Educational Digital Marketing Awards. Read on to learn what we've been up to!
Happy Birthday to us — we're now old enough to rent a car! We turned 25 this year, and we've been celebrating in style, most recently at our "Casino Night" blowout party with the whole Beacon family. In the coming weeks, look out for a larger wrap-up post reflecting on our storied history and how we're looking ahead to the next 25 years of success.
It's one of our favorite times of the year: higher education marketing tradeshow season. In October, we visited Buffalo, New York for HighEdWeb. Now, we're gearing up for the 2023 AMA Symposium in a few weeks in Chicago. Every year, our team looks forward to these opportunities to connect with our higher ed partners, meet new college and university marketers, and showcase our latest website redesign success stories.
Wondering how you can make your new website a blockbuster experience for your audience? Visit us in Chicago November 12 - 15 or contact us about our LuxED program of services, providing your institution with Everything Digital for higher education.
We're pleased to announce that Fairmont State University, Missouri Southern State University, Spartanburg Community College, and Western New England University were all awarded by the Educational Digital Marketing Awards for their recent website redesign projects with Beacon. Congratulations to our collective teams of strategists, designers, developers, digital marketers, and project managers on these accomplishments!
We’re excited to announce these new website redesign & content strategy projects.
Each quarter, Beacon plans our service initiatives toward a particular theme or community, and for Q3 of 2023, our BeaconCares focus was Helping Furry Friends. To kick off the quarter, we visited our local shelter at Guilford County Animal Services and were put to work preparing for an upcoming adoption day event. Beacon's volunteers assembled hundreds of goodie bags and built several carts, and we worked so quickly that the team was able to help with the day's puppy playtime event!
For our second event, we visited our friends at Horsepower, a non-profit therapeutic learning center focused on serving individuals with disabilities through education and recreation with horses. We had a busy morning cleaning up various gardens on the property while also learning about how Horsepower impacts our local community. While we worked, our host Rita shared stories of visitors who said their first words on a horse, were able to walk after riding a horse, and how veterans struggling with PTSD were able to begin the process of recovering while working on the trails with horses.
Beacon was delighted to spend time with all of our furry friends this quarter. We feel fortunate to have helped contribute to these organizations that make a difference in our community every day.
