National Endowment for Financial Education (NEFE)


Project Goals

The National Endowment for Financial Education (NEFE) is dedicated to helping families make empowering financial decisions, reaching millions of Americans every year with informative programs and classes. To reach those potential students, though, NEFE needed assistance marketing on the web.

Beacon was chosen to provide comprehensive digital marketing services—including search engine optimization (SEO), paid advertising, and Google Analytics. That partnership led to Beacon leading a full redesign of NEFE's site in 2019, as well as Beacon providing reliable and affordable web hosting.

Following the success of those projects, NEFE and Beacon continue to collaborate on a variety of digital marketing tasks. Beacon's efforts have helped NEFE engage an ever-growing number of users, from high school graduates to college students and beyond, bringing invaluable financial lessons to students who need it nationwide.

Outcomes Achieved

  • Managed paid search budget and strategy across seven different websites for about 6000 unique keywords and about 30 different campaigns, leading to 8% paid search growth, 18.5% growth in session duration for paid traffic, and millions of impressions of NEFE ads.
  • Implemented a comprehensive SEO strategy that included keyword research, content improvements, page mockups, and more, resulting in a 26% increase in organic traffic.
  • Customized Google Analytics reporting on NEFE sites to better manage, analyze, and aggregate data, cutting data administration time from 40 hours a month to just about three.
  • Utilized proven remarketing tactics to bring college students back and engage with NEFE's specially targeted "On Your Own" site.
