Mount St. Joseph
Project Goals
Switch to proprietary Cascade CMS drives improved functionality and presentationRecognizing the limitations of a legacy design and content management system (CMS), Mount St. Joseph University stakeholders resolved to develop a modern website to better capture the school's strengths and appeal. Beacon rose to the challenge with a clean, crisp web design that speaks to the informational needs of prospective students and serves the functional needs of current students, faculty, and alumni. With its launch date in December 2019, the new MSJ website was ready to ring in the new decade in style.
Outcomes Achieved
- A completely rethought site navigation structure with a main menu geared for prospective students with options like "Academics at the Mount," and audience-based navigation for key on-campus groups
- Four evergreen CTA buttons – Apply, Visit, Request Information, and Give – that display in full for 8 seconds and then retract but still remain visible on the right-hand margin (CTA buttons stick to the bottom of the screen in the mobile experience)
- Improved branding thanks to more consistent use of school colors throughout the home and interior pages, as well as a sticky, animated MSJ coat of arms shield that slides into the main navigation menu when users scroll down
- Improved visibility for MSJ's top departments via a quick-link presentation bar right below the homepage impact area
