Beacon hires new Search Marketing Analyst

July 7, 2008

You would think that someone who gets a Bachelor's in Fine Art and Design might be more of the right-brain, creative type rather than the left-brain, tech-heavy type. James Cooley's resume is the perfect combo of creative and analytical work—something that secured his spot as Beacon Technologies' newest search marketing analyst.

Fresh out of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, Cooley's list of computer skills and responsibilities has continued to grow with each job he has held. It's his need to learn and grow professionally that makes Cooley such a valuable asset to Beacon and its growing Search Marketing Analytics department.

"This is a changing field, and almost all companies need to focus on the online market or get left behind," said Cooley. "My favorite aspect of this work is that strategy and techniques change almost daily, so there's never a dull moment." And even though Cooley knows a Web site needs to look good, he doesn't forget its purpose—a strategy celebrated at Beacon. "My goal is to see maximized revenue for clients."

Cooley seeks work/life balance combining jujitsu practice with time on the couch watching as many sporting events as possible—a pastime sure to win him friends at Beacon, creators of SportsNutShop.com.
