Beacon Technologies’ SportsNutShop.com has experienced tremendous growth again this year. “We are actually a little anxious about the upcoming holiday season, particularly since our September numbers have already surpassed the huge numbers we had last December,” says Mark Dirks, Beacon’s President. “SportsNutShop.com not only provides a product-based revenue stream into Beacon, but it serves as a fantastic model for our IT customers in that it brings all the critical components together for a successful online store. We can test new features and enhancements and evaluate the results. We can also readily demonstrate the power that Google Analytics brings to an active ecommerce site.”


Dan Zerbs, the manager of SportsNutShop, attributes the success to many factors, but primarily the effectiveness of Beacon’s Search Engine Marketing / Optimization Team. “With a full warehouse here in Greensboro, an easy-to-use web site, a fully integrated inventory control system, great relationships with our vendors and our attention to customer service, it really doesn’t mean anything unless we get qualified shoppers to our store. Our expertise in Google Analytics allows us to really understand our traffic and where our efforts should be applied to maximize conversions.”


SportsNutShop.com is an online retail store that sells NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, NCAA and NASCAR merchandise. The site currently markets over 30,000 items.
