Beacon SEM Team braces for active holiday season

November 2005

With the upcoming holiday shopping frenzy nearly upon us, Beacon has spent the last year developing and implementing its strategy to optimize the 2005 return for its clients. Since Beacon contracts with several clients on a commission basis, the holiday shopping season presents a great revenue opportunity for the company and its clients. “It really is a win-win situation,” says Mark Dirks, Beacon’s President. “We essentially function like an online sales representative for our clients, where our sales territory is the internet. Our SEM Team is adept at getting the right traffic to our client sites and we earn a percentage of the sales.”

Based on early statistics, a significant return is projected during the balance of 2005. Currently, Beacon has commission-based contracts with companies that sell women’s apparel, children’s toys, fresh flowers, office furniture and engineering education materials. In addition, the company operates its own online store, Sports Nut Shop, which has seen a tremendous growth in sales throughout the year, especially during October and the first week of November. “Customer service, effective multi-channel search engine marketing, and having sufficient inventory on hand are the key factors in winning big this holiday season,” says Dirks.
