OVER 1.25 MILLION SERVED!

January 2004

With the incredible growth in the number of web sites, how do businesses compete for visitors? How do they get new customers to come to their sites? Many companies are relying on the strength of Beacon’s Search Engine Marketing (SEM) Team and their successful track record over the last 5 years to answer these questions.

In 2003, the Beacon SEM Team surpassed another milestone by driving well over 1 MILLION visitors to its client sites. “Keep in mind that these are customers looking for the products and services of our clients in the major search engines like Google, Yahoo, and MSN. These are new potential customers for our clients that would otherwise find their competitors,” says Beacon’s President, Mark Dirks. “The increase in web site traffic is mind-boggling if you compare it to visitors to the traditional brick-and-mortar businesses.”

For most of Beacon’s SEM clients, the 4th quarter of 2003 was especially strong. Many of its 60+ customers had their best month during the last quarter, which was a particularly difficult feat for Beacon’s SEM Team, given the many changes introduced by the Search Engines during that period “We do our best to stay up with, or ahead of, the expected changes in philosophy, policy, technologies,) and mergers that occur among the major search engine players. It requires a lot of time and research, but it is absolutely necessary to get the results that our customers have come to expect, “ says Julie Joyce, one of Beacon’s Search Engine Specialists.

Beacon offers Search Engine Marketing as a standalone service, or as a component of its Integrated eCommerce Package, which includes Beacon’s user-friendly BeCommerce software, highly secure Hosting services, and dependable Maintenance services. “I’m proud of what the SEM Team has achieved”, says Dirks, “They have a tough job, much like that of a stock broker, in that clients have high expectations in an environment where the target is always moving”.

Beacon’s SEM client list includes companies such as Flowers Inc. Balloons (the largest Balloon Distributor in the U.S.), Ross Products (makers of Pedialyte, Ensure, and other infant-related products), National Wholesale (women’s apparel), Peaches-N-Cream (children’s apparel), MVP Sports (sporting apparel), Kaplan Early Learning Company, Exclusively Weddings, GetAwayAgent.com, SendFlowersToday.com, N.C. State University’s Industrial Extension Service, and many others.
